Backed by over 130 patents and patent applications, Pure Lithium’s platform supports multiple product generations, including a Gen-1 Lithium Iron Phosphate (Li-LFP) battery and a Gen-2 vanadium (LV) battery. The Next Generation Lithium Battery

Lithium metal anodes offer a tenfold increase in energy density compared to graphite used in today’s lithium-ion anodes. Higher energy density means more energy can be stored in a smaller space, reducing battery size and weight while improving duration.

Sourced in North America

Lithium-ion batteries are notorious for their tendency to catch fire through an event known as “thermal runaway.” This starts in the cathode, which begins to release oxygen at less than 100°C. We mitigate this risk by using a vanadium cathode that functions at temperatures of up to 700°C.

Safer battery

Unlike traditional direct lithium extraction (DLE), our lithium production uses no fresh water. Our vertically integrated technology eliminates 55,000 miles worth of travel, thus reducing CO2 emissions by 805 kg/tonne.

The market is heavily reliant on China and its battery infrastructure for materials processing and manufacturing. For example, 99.99% of today’s graphite anodes are produced in China and are subject to volatile tariffs and export control.
